Abstract enScience lessons contain a wide variety of abstract concepts. Moreover, there are a lot of studies about probing studentsâ understanding. In our country, however, researchers have used more limited methods to determine studentsâ misconceptions. Determining studentsâ misconceptions are very important in providing an effective way of teaching science, these methods should be introduced to researchers and teachers. Prediction-Observation-Explanation (POE), one of the methods in the international literature, requires students to carry out three activities. Firstly, they must predict the outcome of events and justify their prediction and secondly, they describe what they see happen and finally they must reconcile conflicts between predictions and observation. The aim of this study is to introduced POE method to researchers and teachers by developing three activities about âElektromagnetism, Boiling and Photosynthesisâ. In order to achieve this aim, interviews were conducted with teachers and students from different schools. From the collected data, topics of Elektromagnetism, Boiling and Photosynthesis were selected and developed three activities through POE method.
