Abstract:

Abstract enWhen examined maritime trade in the Black Sea Region in terms of passenger shipping, some shipping company (Osmanlı Seyr-i Sefain İdaresi, Şirket-i Hayriye etc.) met the demand by adjusting the voyage on certain days of the week. Thereafter, despite rail and road investments, maritime transport always maintained the importance in the region. A passenger shipping continued in this manner until 1960s. When the planned development period comprised between 1960-1980 was reached, it was begun to occur breakthroughs in maritime transportation in parallel to other modes of transport. In light of this information, in this study, between 1940 -1980 and especially, objectives and results of the transportation applications within the development plan implemented since 1960s has tried to be analyzed supporting by recollection of captain who made a service in the Black Sea Region
