Abstract:

Abstract The aim of the study is to determine the usage of computer technology in school administration, primary school administrators’ attitudes towards computer technology, administrators’ and teachers’ computer literacy level. The study was modeled as a survey search. The population of the study consists primary school principals, assistant principals in public primary schools in the center of Antalya. The data were collected from 161 (%51) administrator questionnaires in 68 of 129 public primary schools. While school administrators’ attitudes towards computer technology were evaluated, a questionnaire described as “school administrators’ attitudes towards computer technology” developed by Altun (2002) was used in the study for gathering data. The data and analysis were processed by SPSS. Frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, LSD and one-way ANOVA tests were used in analyzing to define attitudes towards computer technology. The statistically significant level was 0,05. As a result of the study, primary school administrators’ attitudes towards computer technology were found ‘very high’ about technology and development, technology use, technology administration and acceptance. Their attitudes about pursuing and interest in technology, technology phobia were in ‘high’ level
