Abstract enIn this study, it was aimed to present a model as a solving offer for the reasons of the communication problems among the patient, patient’s relatives and healthcare professionals at the hospitals. In accordance with this purpose, we had interviews with the personnel who are religious official, nurse and psychologist in the department which is to communicate with the patients and the patient’s relatives at Gaziantep University Research and Application Hospital. The data was analyzed within the scope of grounded theory. At the end of the study central notion is information, root of the communication problems is “wish to learn information”, the objective of the department is “edification” and analysis strategy is “information exchange”. Besides, among the communication problems of the department; changing the environment of the patient and patient’s relatives, determining the personal characteristics and effective communication skill were found as analysis strategies
