Abstract:

Abstract The aim of this study is to reveal the views of the teachers candidates who participate in the Farabi Change Program on this program. The method of "event science" is used from research methods. The study group is made up of students studying under the Farabi Change Program at the University of Çanakkale on March 18th in the 2013-2014 academic year. Examples are used for the purposes of the study. In this framework, the sample of the research is made up of 12 teachers candidates who studied in the different departments of the University of Çanakkale Eighteen March in the 2013-2014 academic year (6 girls, 6 men). The research has used a semi-configured and non-directional conversation technique as a data collection tool. In the analysis of the interview questions, the content analysis technique was used. The analysis of the interview questions was created by two different researchers separately coded, based on codes. In the content analysis, the data that is similar to one is created and edited by gathering in the framework of specific concepts and themes. The study found that teachers candidates participated in the Farabi Change Program for different reasons. The main reasons for teachers’ candidates to choose the Farabi Change Program is the opportunity to be scholarship, the benefit of social activities of different universities, the habit of the city where they are studied. However, it has been revealed that teachers’ candidates consider education and quality of life while prefering the universities they want to study under the Farabi Change Program. The Farabi Change Program has been determined to contribute to personal and social development. In addition, it appears that teachers candidates express that they are facing various problems during the Farabi Change Program.
