From “the Urban of Islam” to “Urbanized Islam”: the Codes of Civilisation in the City from the Point of Historical Experience and Sociological Practise

Abstract enIn this article, both the concepts of “Urban of Islam” and “Urbanized Islam” are handled as historical and phenomenological categories. We will relate the concept of “Urban of Islam” to the sociological concepts of western urban but not as a subject of adverse or deficiencies, but as a different practises of basic dynamic of civilisation. In this context, the concept of “Urban of Islam” is thought as a specific reflection of symbols of civilisation in socio-cultural reality of each culture. With regard to the “Urbanized Islam”, it is related to performance of Islamic thought in the reflection of intellectual, cultural and scientific religiousness more than urban religiousness, which penetrates into popular daily life.
