Abstract:

Abstract enIn Anatolia at the time of the start of National Struggle between October-December 1919 Bayburt township Hart crash was occurred mortal an uprising Sheikh Ashraf. When the homeland was occupıed and out of the rebellion in various places, where there were a lot of hard times, this uprising rebellion was suppressed and the sheikh was killed. As one of the sects named Ashraf living in Hart spread in the vicinity causing rumors, then the attentions were drawn to there. At a wedding held in the township in stretched environment, between gendarmes and the sheikh and his disciples on mutual lack of provocative words and behavior, sheiks opened an investigation, but he fled from Hart has come out against it; whereupon events climbed. About sheikh himself Mahdi declared and against the national struggle the provoked people rumors spread. The first attempt on Sheikh Ashraf started by Erzurum Governor and the sheikhs of the origin, profession, sect, followers were asked information about their identity and activities. Sheikh was not going the commission which was established to interrogating of himself. In this case, Erzurum Governorship officials have criticized the harsh intervention in this event.
