Abstract enIn Turkish language, during the course of learning and improving basic language skills, the field of learning serves as a tool. The rules of linguistic knowledge are very important in the acquisition of basic language skills and in the functional use of language. In this research, it was aimed to classify the postgraduate dissertations written on teaching language in Turkey between 1996 and 2017 according to their their types, the research institute, topic, level, target group and the year it was prepared. In the course of source scan made for the database of National Thesis Center of YÖK was mainly used. However, apart from this database, internet search engines and written sources prepared in previous years have also benefited. In the research process, the thesis scans are concentrated around the concept of "teaching linguistics". The theses were coded by the researchers in computer environment. Coding made to ensure coding reliability has been reexamined by a specialist on his area. Each dissertation is coded only once during the coding of postgraduate theses on teaching linguistics. As a result of the investigations, it is not possible to say that the work done in this area for our country is sufficient, though the number of thesis about the teaching linguistics has increased in recent years. The fact that many problems are still encountered in the field of teaching linguistic makes it necessary to carry out qualified researches. Even though the effect and importance of the teaching linguistics, which has a functional prescription in the acquisition of basic language skills, is constantly mentioned, it seems that the work in this area is not at a sufficient level.
