Abstract enIn many countries in the world, for maintaning a healthy urban life, basic human rights and responsibilities have been determined by laws and other related legal agreements. Utilizing these rights and sharing these responsibilities based on equality and justice. However, in many countries, groups like women, children, disables, elderly etc. can't utilize of these rights and responsibilities equally in practice. Especially, women in these disadvantaged groups have different social roles. Cultural, social and familial values and expectations are effectual on these social roles. Because of the multi-dimensional roles and responsibilities of women, they can't reach and utilize of urban services properly. For solving these problems, urban services must be planned with women perspective and applied suitable for gender equality principles by the service providers. The aim of this study is to analyze social roles of women in urban life, to establish levels of utilization, awareness and satisfaction of urban services by women, to determine the basic problems they face and try to develop solution proposals. In this research, Trabzon is selected as a pilot city for the case study.
