Abstract:

Abstracten This study has been aimed at determining the impact of photography use on student success in the history of the university. In the conceptual framework of the study, the place of visual materials used as evidence in history teaching and the role of the use of these materials in the achievement of the objectives expected from history teaching. The photo, which is an effective and reliable representative of visual materials assessed as historical evidence, has been used in the application stage of this research. In the study conducted with an experimental pattern of the pre-test-final test control group, students in the experiment group tried to develop a framework for the analytical use of the photo, while in the classes with students in the control group, traditional teaching methods (right narration, question-response) were used. In the application stage of the research, the topic of the Turkish Republic's Inkılâp History and Atatürkçülük course was discussed. The validity and reliability of the test prepared in order to measure the academic achievements of the subjects in this field, the study of validity and reliability of the test was conducted in a different school, the study of success, consisting of the test materials made by material analysis, was applied to students in the experiment and control group at the beginning and end of the experimental study. As a result of the application of a three-week period, the use of photography in the history of the teaching has been found to have an impact on the academic success of students.
