Abstract:

Educational integration of mobile technologies has been a focus in recent years. In particular, the widespread use of mobile phones, increased ownership and the ability to access many applications have increased the interest in these technologies. However, it remains unclear how learners benefit from these technologies in the current educational process. Also, what are their views on mobile learning is another unknown. In this context, the main purpose of the research is to determine the candidates' opinions on educational use of mobile phones and mobile learning. The research was conducted through a causal comparative research method. The study group constitutes a total of 656 candidate teachers who are volunteer and studying at Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Education. The data collection tool created is implemented in computer environment. Frequency (f), percentage (%) and CHAID (Chi-squared Automatic Interaction Detection) analysis were used in analyzing the data. As a result of the research, it was determined that the teacher candidates mostly attended the classes with mobile phones and kept using the mobile phones during the lessons. It has become clear that mobile phones are primarily used for communication purposes, as well as for taking photos and scheduling time. It has been determined that teacher candidates are not willing to take courses in mobile environments, even though they are interested in learning from other universities through mobile learning
