The people‟s urge of curiosity and following up the other people‟s lives is not limited just to the real life. And one of the environments where this curiosity and following up finds an appropriate ground is the Facebook, which is a branch of the social media. The sharing made on the Facebook almost enriches and makes colourful the persons‟ profiles on one hand, and the number of likes expected to come to the sharing may cause the formation of an unending ego in the people on the other hand. However, more desperate situation than this is the possibility of legitimizing the follow up culture of the Facebook, which takes under its protection a significant percentage of the social media and especially the interpersonal communication. For everything personal that belongs to people is being almost publicized through the Facebook and people continuously receive information from the profiles of people they are curious about. It seems possible to say that having broadcasted the vital activities of an individual in virtual environments in this way, causes monitoring and a follow-up. While in our real life having been followed when walking down in the street by someone is a factor threatening the safety and the comfort, having this situation not creating any concern in the social media, can be expressed as a situation that reveals the paradox between the social reality and the social media. It has been reached a conclusion that the personal lives entering to the mobile phones through Facebook have attracted attention to the phenomenon of "a surveillance society" and in terms of pushing unwittingly the individuals to a digital voyeurism that most of the anticipated hypothesis for this research have been confirmed.
