Abstract:

This study, entitled Gender of Tourism or Tourism in the Shadow of Women, consists of the study of women-containing news from the Central Mediterranean Region Accessories in Antalya, which is considered the capital of tourism in Turkey. In the study that will address the social gender attitudes of the media and the forms of women’s position in the news, with a short definition of tourism, the content analysis of foreign women in the tourism news and the female body used as a sexual object is carried out. The news in the Hürriyet Mediterranean, Sabah Mediterranean and the Republic Mediterranean Region Additions, printed in Antalya, is considered as an example. In the review, the respective newspapers take into account the place they give to women in tourism news. In the study, the Turkish press indicates that tourism news is evaluated through gender and female body.
