For individuals, consumption of media contents is the mainstay of the approach of uses and satisfactions with the purpose of social and psychological needs. One of the most common motivations for following mass media is to have information. News is broadcast, which has the function of transferring information about what is going on in the world to individuals. News not only defines the world for the audience, but also shows them what is important and what is not. News can mold public opinions and guide social reactions via affecting and convincing the audience. News codes what is important and what is not for the audience. The purpose of the present research is defining level of trust in news sources and motivation to watch news programs among young individuals, and it was conducted on 643 participants in the universe of Konya Selcuk University. According to the findings obtained in the present research, young individuals watch news to feel safe, get information, and for requirements related the quality of news. Another finding is that most reliable mass medium is newspaper. Key Words: Media, trust, media credibility, youth, news
