Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the measurement of the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of the employees of the Nevşehir Agricultural Credit Cooperative towards sustainable development and their differentiation in terms of some demographic variables. The prepared surveys were implemented with the participation of 62 employees in the Nevşehir Agricultural Credit Cooperative and with the face-to-face interview technique. The findings from the study show that participants have a medium level of knowledge, a medium level of attitude and a medium level of behavior towards sustainable development. According to the findings from the relationship tests, there is no statistically meaningful relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude and behavior of employees towards sustainable development. Only a statistically meaningful and positive relationship has been established between the level of attitude of employees towards sustainable development and the level of behavior. In view of this relationship, the regression test findings to study the impact of employees’ attitudes towards sustainable development on their behavior have found that employees’ attitudes towards sustainable development have a statistically significant impact on their behavior. Finally, a variety of hypotheses developed to study the relationship of employees’ knowledge, attitudes and behaviors towards sustainable development with some demographic variables were tested. According to the findings obtained, the level of knowledge for sustainable development of employees has not been statistically significantly differentiated according to age, civil status, gender, job position, level of education, and age variables. It has also been shown that employees’ attitudes and behavior levels towards sustainable development differ significantly from these demographic variables only according to their job positions, and that differentiation occurs in employees in managerial and official positions.
