Abstract:

In order to prevent occupational accidents and occupational diseases and bring permanent solutions to problems in the field of occupational health and safety, the Law on Occupational Health and Safety No. 6331, prepared in accordance with the EU and ILO standards, has entered into force by publication in the Official Journal of 30.06.2012. The new law brings to the employer new and quite large obligations. At the beginning of this commitment, the risk assessment comes. Not making a risk assessment will increase the risk of employment accidents and occupational illnesses. The law that covers all areas of activity and all employees, including the public and private sector, is prepared on the basis of a proactive approach. This study aims to reveal the details of the Law on Occupational Health and Safety and the Risk Assessment Regulations and Risk Assessment and to make it clear how the risk assessment should be performed with the help of a sample table in the office workplace.

To prevent occupational accidents and occupational diseases and to bring lasting solutions to the problems in the field of OSH, Law of Occupational Health and Safety numbered 6331 has been prepared in accordance with EU standards and ILO was promulgated in the Official Gazette on 06/30/2012. The newly adopted legislation imposes new and quite a lot of obligations on the employers. Risk assessment is the first and foremost among such obligations. The law was prepared on the basis of proactive approach by considering all fields of activities and all employees from both public and private sector. In this study, it was presented the details regarding risk assessment by searching through the Law of Occupational Health and Safety and particularly By-Law of Risk Assessment and attempted to make clear, with the help of sample table, how to perform a risk assessment in the office workplaces.
