This work deals with differences in temporal systems of the Turkish and the Russian languages with the accent on translation difficulties caused by semantic diversity in these systems. The author focuses on structural and semantic peculiarities of Turkish and Russian tenses and presents training examples which throw light to semantic differences between two systems and can to a certain extent prevent Russian students from making translation mistakes.
