İktisadi büyüme literatürününönemli konularından birisi Solow modelinin temel çıkarımı olan yakınsama hipotezidir. Bu hipoteze göre, kapalı ekonomi koşulları altında sermayenin azalan getirisi nedeniyle ülkeler arası kişi başı reel gelir farklılıkları zaman içinde azalma eğiliminde olacaktır.
