Özet:

Figure skating is a branch of sports made by special clothes and accompanied by music on the icy ground. Figure skating appealling audiovisual senses incorporates art and sport and requires disciplined and long-term working from the early years of childhood. The figure skating, one of the most interesting and striking sport in Turkey in the last thirty years, are effective on the posture (healthy posture of the body) especially in children while promoting elasticity and freedom of movement. The aim of this study is to give information on figure skating and make the examples of clothing design fort the both girls and boys doing this sport. For this purpose, descriptive method has been used in the study and a document has been examined from data collection techniques in qualitative research; so the information on figure skating has been given. In addition in this study, it has been designed the figure skating clothes which wouldn’t restrict the dynamic movements of the child’s body. These designs have been drawn on silhoutte and painted with water colour and gouache paint. Two models from the designs made for girls and boys have been sewn as sample products. This study is important to introduce the figure skating sport in terms of the healthy and aesthetic development of the child’s body and to raise aweaeness of the figure skating. At the end of this study, it has been made proposals with design and production of the aesthetic figure skating clothings which are suitable to body shapes of sporters, with coherent sport being done.
