So many results that aren't mine?

Five Years Development Plans, which are prepared by the Ministry of Development, which was previously named State Planning Organization, are the basic policy documents that include plans for Turkey’s economic, social and cultural development issues in the long term. Ten different special development plans for the years between 1963 and 2018 are prepared. Development plans have the same basic goal both for government and for the society in general. The basic goal of all these different plans are the same: Enabling Turkish society has a happy and prosperous life. Education is one of the most significant factors while determining a nation’s development. Educational policy means the steps taken in order to enable more individuals get education and develop the quality of education. Educational policy of a nation is firstly determined in development plans. All of the educational institutions aim at developing young population in terms of physical, mental, moral, spiritual, social and cultural features, and preparing them for the future by giving sufficient and quality information and abilities as much as possible. The basic goal of education in Turkey is to ensure students solve problems that they meet after graduation, to find and use opportunities, to find proper work and to keep pace with changes. Both governments and families spend a lot of money, give extraordinary amount of effort and use resources on education. Diversification of education and development of education substructure are the two important factors that are crucial in order to enable education contribute to a nation’s development. The goal of this study is to present the preparations made for the future in terms of educational policies in the above mentioned development plans, to attract attention to present and potential problems in the field, to develop ways to solve the determined problems and make suggestions. Qualitative design document analysis technique is used in this study and educational sections of 10 development plans are analyzed. Research findings, results and suggestions are presented at the end of the study.
