Abstract:

This research was conducted to evaluate the "Social and Economic Support" service which is provided to children by General Directorate of Child Services of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. The families of children who live in Karabük province and benefit from this service for at least 6 months have been taken to the survey. Efforts have been made to determine the impact of the SES is provided to children on the contribution to the child and the family, accessibility, child's education, health and quality of life. According to the results, which are obtained from the research; it is stated that the children who benefit from the SES service have improved their communication with the people they have just met after the service and also their desire to define the environment. When looked at the educational situation, it is seen that the positive change begin in their lessons after they started to benefit from the service. When the participation of children of families using SES services to social activities by sex was examined, the participation of social activities in both girls and boys receiving service increased. It is concerned with the economic and social deprivation of children as understood from the social and economic support service. Especially, work within social services should be enhanced to ensure socialization of children, those who are back from psycho-social developmental peers.
