Regarding the permanence factor in learning, another issue we need to put emphasis on is learning styles. According to the research conducted, it is now an accepted fact that every individual has different learning styles, that individual differences are noticeable, and that learning styles of individuals are unique like finger prints. Therefore, it is important that teaching strategies suitable for learning styles be developed. In this study perceptions of teachers of Social studies about learning styles have been researched. This study has been carried out with 96 teachers of Social studies selected in 20 different towns in Istanbul. In the study, as a data collection tool, (Cronbach α = 0,88) scale was used, which was developed by the researcher, and whose validity and reliability have been ensured. The scale consisted of 3 stages. At the first stage personal data about the teachers of Social studies, at the second stage their perceptions of individual differences, and in the third and final stage teachers’ views regarding learning styles were discussed. Following the analysis of the findings obtained from this study, it has been observed that the teachers of Social studies agree that there are individual differences in learning, but that they do not conduct education/training in classes in accordance with learning styles. It has been noticed that this is mainly due to lack of knowledge and experience. Here, therefore, it becomes apparent that the strategies and methods of bringing up teachers should be revised
