Human who born as a biological entity with extremely limited behaviors learn interacting its close environment and pursuing experience many concepts related object, entity and phenomenon. Teaching concept in that planned way is carried out at schools. It is known that we experience difficulties in learning and teaching of concepts because they are abstract.Therefore, several methods and models have been developed by field experts to facilitate embodying concepts and their teaching and learning.This research is carried out with the idea thatcould contribute to concept teaching. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the games in teaching of concept in social studies lessons. In this research, controlled pre-and posttest model of the experimental method was used. Required data was collected by "Concept Success Test" developed by researchers. The study group of research consists two sixth grade classes from Erzurum Sabanci Primary School. One of them (6A) selected as test and the other (6B) as a control group.Test group received game based concept teachingwhile the control group learned concept with the help of traditional methods.
