The aim of this study is to show how female students conceptualize their thoughts about the concept of "outdoor camp" with the use of metaphors. The study group of the research is composed of 30 female students at the age of 16-17 (from Osmaniye-Aslantaş) participated in the Outdoor camps organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport in 2014. This study is designed with phonemonolgy approach as of qualitative method which identifies social phenomena through how they are perceived by the actors in a situation. Participants of the research are chosen with easy access sampling method. Focus group interview was used as one of the qualitative research techniques since it effects the scope and depth of the answers given to the interview questions. The interview location was determined by the researcher at a place where students feel relax. According to the findings related to the “Outdoor Camp” concept ; the participants’ perceptions consisted of 6 conceptual themes. These are; learning by doing, acculturation, team work, responsibility, leadership and self confidence. The codes in regards to these themes are; film, lunapark, ant nest, watermelon, white colour, stars, rainbow, human, stump, sapling, cycling, ant, heart, the space, lizard, fire, child and caterpillar. It is determined that the Outdoor camp concept has a rich and concrete methaporic meaning for the female students. With the results obtained from the study it is concluded that these applications contribute positively as for the social, cultural and psychological aspects on female students. It is reccomended that similar studies could be realized on the male students at the same age group in different camp environments
