Natural resources have been a prominent issue all over the world. It is of importance to make use of these resources in order to contribute to the economy of countries. Therefore, this issue should be taught to the individuals from the beginning of the primary school, and individuals should be aware of their responsibilities as citizens (Ugurlu, 2007). The primary aim of Social Studies Course is to get students adopt a social identity and become good citizens. In this regard, teaching the subjects of natural resources in Social Studies courses has a vital importance. In this study, the occurrence levels of the concepts on natural resources in the curriculum of 6th grade Social Sciences course were investigated. The curriculum and course books of Social Sciences course were analyzed, and it was concluded that a great deal of the concepts about natural resources were included.
