Abstract:

It is seen that violence occured currently in schools to student from teachers, despite there are positive developments with regard to human right sand child rights in the World and in our country in today. The concept of school violence has been used meaning of behaviours that producing negative results on school climate, aggressive and criminal preventing the development of students. The violence is not only physical damage but also it contains behaviours psychological pressure, humiliation, contempt and ribbing. The aim of this study is find out that what are the observations of trainee students about violence and the prevalence of violence in schools. This research both quantitative to bring out violence kinds and the prevalence of violence in schools and qualitative to provide data how violence occurs in schools. The research is performed with 242 trainee students that taking the course of teaching practice in primary education and secondary school departments in Ondokuz Mayis University in 2014-2015 academic year. The trainee students have been appointed to the schools in Atakum and Ilkadim districts in Samsun. In research, survey developed by researchers as data collection tool has been used. In this survey has 19 item that containing violence kind sand the prevalence of violence in schools. Also, it has a question open ended that contains the most striking cases of violence. The findings of the research of related to violence from teacher to student are rebuke, no interest, ignore-exclusion, exposure Word sandactions that hurt. According to gender of trainee students, the findings shows that observations of male trainee students related to violence kind sand the prevalence of violence higher than violence observations of female trainee students. Also, the violence observed in primary education level is greater than secondary education level. Additionally, the findings related to violence in schools regarding expressions of trainee student found that "Physical violence", "threat sand humiliation," "rebuke, teasing, insults, note to intimidate".
