Socio‐psychological researches has shown that religious education one of the most important needs of human being in terms of the individual and society. Maintaining the presence of religion which is very important for the individual and society and its transferring to the next generation is only possible through a good religious education. Because of this fact it a necessity determining the characteristics of religious education and revealing of its importance for individual and society. Within this context this article facuses on the problem what kind of responsibility religious education should have in order to achieve its main aims in terms of individual and society.
