Walnuts have been used widely and contain nutritive compounds with beneficial effects on human health. Walnut has 50% fruit yield and it is proved that the kernel is inevitable for a healthy diet because of the nutritional components and high energy level. These effects are caused by the minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and unsaturated fatty acids in its composition. the improvements of walnut production both in the research region and in Turkey as a whole were discussed and some suggestions were made
