Bu çalışmanın amacı entelektüel sermaye bileşenlerinin işletme değerine ve performansına etkisinin olup olmadığının saptanmasıdır. Çalışma kapsamında; 2010 ila 2014 yılları arasında Borsa İstanbul’daki 82 adet imalat işletmesi 410 gözlemle incelenmiştir. Çalışmada; Ante Pulic (1998)’in Entelektüel Katma Değer Katsayısı (EKDK) yöntemi kullanılarak entelektüel sermayenin işletme üzerindeki etkileri panel veri analizi ile incelenmiştir. Panel veri analizindeki modellerde; işletme değeri göstergesi olarak piyasa değeri-defter değeri oranı, finansal performans göstergesi olarak aktif karlılığı kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre entelektüel sermaye ile işletme değeri (ve finansal performansı) arasında pozitif bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Entelektüel sermaye bileşenleri olarak; kullanılan sermaye etkinliği (KSE), insan sermayesi etkinliği (İSE) ve yapısal sermaye etkinliği (YSE) kullanılmıştır. KSE değişkeninin hem işletme değerine hem de aktif karlılığına etkisi anlamlı iken İSE değişkeninin sadece aktif karlılığına etkisi anlamlıdır. Bununla birlikte YSE değişkeninin katsayıları hiçbir modelde anlamlı çıkmamıştır. Sonuçlar yazındaki diğer çalışmalarla genel olarak uyumludur.
