This research presents findings from institutional evaluation reports of Ankara, Gazi, Hacettepe and Middle East Technical Universities in five dimensions namely governance, finance, research, education and stakeholders/international aspects. The research also aims to put forward academic staff's views on improvement recommendations mentioned in evaluation reports. Research sample are 420 academic staff employed in the biggest faculties in terms of staff numbers in educational, natural, health and social sciences areas. Views of academic staff were gathered by a questionnaire developed by the researcher. The study evaluates academic staff's views according to their universities, titles, disciplines and administrative experiences. Likert scale is used to evaluate academic staff's participation rates to recommendations. In the evaluation of the data, arithmetic mean and standard deviation values are given. To compare means and significance controls Mann - Whitney U test and oneway ANOVA methods were used. Tukey-HSD multiple comparison test was used to define the source of difference between groups in ANOVA results. Research results show that in all five of the dimensions there is a significant difference between the participation rates of the universities. Middle East Technical University has the lowest participation rate to recommendations in all dimensions. The difference between participation rates according to staff's titles is insignificant. In educational sciences participation rates in research/education and external stakeholders/international perspective dimensions are higher. It is also observed that staff with administrative experience agrees with the recommendations in external stakeholders/international perspectives dimension with a higher rate.
