The aim of this study is to investigate the elementary and secondary school mathematics curricula renewed in Turkey in terms of women mathematicians concept. Document analysis method was used in the study. Elementary (6th to 8th grades) and secondary (9th to 12th grades) school mathematics curricula were examined as the documents. Mathematics curricula were analyzed by “Curriculum Data Collection Form” which was developed by the researchers. Data obtained with the help of the form were coded according to the contents related to grade levels, learning domains, sub-learning domains, attainments, mathematicians, parts of curricula where mathematicians are given place, and frequencies and tables were formed. As a result of the study, it is determined that life stories of women mathematicians and their contributions to mathematics are not emphasized in curricula. In order to make students understand that mathematics is a science developing with the contributions of male and female mathematicians, it may be useful to mention life stories of women mathematicians, their contributions to mathematics and their photos / pictures in mathematics curricula. This may help to increase the attitudes of girl students towards mathematics. Therefore, mathematics curricula must be supported and reinforced with the activities about women mathematicians.
