Ataturk Principles and Revolutionary History class is offered in all programs in higher education and it is about how the state of Turkish Republic was established, reforms took place, and our near history was shaped. It is important to determine the perception of students on Ataturk Principles and Revolutionary History course to judge the goals and objec- tives of the course. This perception may be generated during the secondary education, or as a common sense during informal social interaction. In this study, an instrument is implemented on 192 freshmen students from Elemen- tary, Turkish, Math and social sciences education programs in Erzincan Education Faculty. The instrument is designed to collect data about students’ perception on the course. Data analysis revealed that the perceptions differ in various programs. However, no difference is observed for gender. Results are concluded in terms of percentage distribution of answers to scale questions.
