The aim of the research is to define the effect of usage of V-diagrams compared to laboratory method teaching of the experiments of “ vegetable tissues and members “ found in “ general Biology Labratory classes on the student success. The research, was conducted in the pre- and post-test on the control group (re- search) design were conducted. Research group consisted of second grade students (N=38) of science teaching programme at Faculty of Education in Muğla University. The research was carried out on two groups, one test group and one con- trol group, and the groups were formed randomly. The students in both groups were given a laboratory achievement test consisting of 19 questions about “ vegetable tissues and members” as a pre-test and post-test in order to evaluate the students’ success. The content validity of the achievement test was determined by getting ex- perts’ views. The test’s Cronbach-alfa reliability coefficient was found as 0.73. Experiment and contol groups were given a pre-test and after evaluating the pre-test it was found that there isn’t any meaningful difference (p>0,05) between experiment and control groups. Achievement levels for students in the study group are similar. At the end of the application, a meanindful difference (p<0,05) was found in the post-test success points of the expreriment group in which V-diagrams were used. By this result, it was found out that the students who were taught in the biology laboratory using the V-diagrams were more successful.
