In this study, a short view of the West-Trakia Muslim minority issue is presented in the contemporary Greek generation, and literary texts address the novel "O dikos mu Theos" (My God) by a folklore professor Vangelis Avdikos, which is a very important work related to this group. In our review, we take advantage of the meanings of "frontiers" and "diversity" in terms of interpretation, and stand on the topic of cultural abluka in Western Trakya. The novel of Avdikos is linked to the tradition of a "campus novel", a Western style, and is believed to be the pioneer of "antropological or ethnic novel" in the contemporary Greek generation.
In this article we try to make a short reference in portraying the Muslim minority of Western Thrace in terms of Modern Greek Fiction and we speak about one of the most important works of this small group of literature texts, the novel of the professor of Folklore Vaggelis Avdikos Ο δικός μου Θεός (My own God). In this analysis we focus on the cultural exclusion in Western Thrace, using as interpretative tools the concept of border and alterity. The literary work is related to the tradition of the western-like “campus novel” and is considered as a pioneering case of “anthropological” or “ethnographic novel” in contemporary Greek Fiction.
