The purpose of this study is to state how it experienced a transformation in the representation of the other in films about Cyprus in the Turkish cinema. The literature part of the study firstly has been referred to nationalism, othering, popular nationalism and popular nationalism cinema relationship. Then, the films about Cyprus are discussed as ten-year periods. To achieve the research objectives, the case study is done in the research used the descriptive analysis. The target population of the study is films about Cyprus made in Turkish cinema. The four movies namely, On Korkusuz Adam, Önce Vatan, Çamur ve Gölgeler ve Suretler are selected for the sample group with purposeful sampling method. The four movies are studied with regard to the following four categories of “discussed topics, othering, nationalist representation and discourse and us/them dichotomy”, by employing the method of descriptive analysis. According to research results, there has been a transformation from confrontational approach in the narrative of films made the first semester to conciliatory approach in the narrative of films made the second semester in films about Cyprus in the Turkish cinema
