The purpose of this study is to present how supervisors are employed and placed into their positions, how the structure of the supervision system is formed, what the fields of supervisors consist of and how the supervision system works in Turkey and in some European countries. In this study, it has been found out that there are some differences between these countries. In this context, while there have been similar practices in the process of the supervisors’ employment, training, informing the date of he supervision to the institution beforehand and practicing supervision individually or in groups, roles and responsibilities of the supervisors, there have been differences between the period spent at teaching position, type of choosing and training, organizing the supervision system in centrally or locally, the work and procedures in the supervision process. While supervisors have been selected out of the teaching staff and trained in a similar way as in the EU countries, in the supervision process especially supervising uninformed and applying in group processes are different.
