It is thought that the anxiety level of teacher candidates being high or low affects their success in professional life and their abilities to struggle with difficulties equally. In this sense, it is important to determine the factors that have effect on the anxiety level of teacher candidates. Developed by Öner and Le Compte (1983), the state-trait anxiety inventory was used in data collection. In the analysis of the data, t test and ANOVA were used. The difference between the opinions of the groups was commented taking P 0.05 significance level into consideration. According to the results; it was established that the anxiety levels of male teacher candidates are lower than females. Teacher candidates doing sports have lower levels of anxiety than the ones who do not. Teacher candidates continuing to their education have lower levels of anxiety than those who do not. In addition, the anxiety levels of teacher candidates involved in nuclear or extended families are lower than those involved in broken families. As a result of the study, various studies can be performed to prevent the anxiety in teacher candidates. In order to lessen the anxiety levels of teacher candidates, they should be encouraged to do sports and the other factors effective in decreasing their anxiety levels should be determined.
