The purpose of this work is to reveal the thoughts of prospective teachers in science about what kind of teacher they want to become by examining their teaching style and the environment of teaching. Carried out in the 2005–2006 teaching year, the object of work has been composed of two components, the students of Marmara University who have been chosen as the environment of the study and 203 prospective teachers in Science as sample data finding places, 104 of whom have been randomly chosen among the 1st year study students and the others among the 4th year-study. The data sources of the work involve pictures and essays produced by the prospective teachers and a content analysis has been practices on the data provided by these pictures and essays. As a result of the data traced from this analysis, it has been explored that most of the 4th year students stress the importance of being a hearty teacher, of employing the constructivist methods in teaching and the necessity of the active participation of students in lectures. On the other hand, according to analysis the first year students seem to believe that teachers are to use traditional methods in teaching and become authoritarian in the relations with students when necessary.
