Abstract:

The marriage of muslims with other people who belong to other religions has recently started to be discussed by islamic legists and caused a lot of affirmative and negative claims. Today the marriage between people who belong to different religions is widespread and this makes the issue a bit more actual. In terms of this, the issue keeps its place on the agenda of Jews, Christians and Muslims as their social and religious problems. Besides, religious difference in a marriage in regard to the possibility that the children might be affected in terms of their religious and moral education, the prohibition of getting married with someone who belongs to a different religion is accepted in Islam. However, Islam, as a universal religion, which brings the most suitable principles for human beings, behaving more tolerantly than Christianity and Judaism authorized the marriage with Jew or Christian women. The continuity of the social relationships between Muslims and people who believe in the other sacred books is tried to be preserved with this act.
