The aim of this study was to scrutinize the perceptions of teachers in the fields of primary and secondary education, about "Fine Arts Lessons" and "Fine Arts Teachers" by metaphor analysis. This study was carried out with the participation of 115 teachers from various branches, working for three different schools at the city center of Trabzon, in the spring term of academic year 2011- 2012. In order to gather data, teachers were asked to complete the following sentences and fill in the blanks: "Fine Arts Lesson is like ...; because ..." and "Fine Arts Teacher is like ...; because ...". A qualitative research technique, "phenomenology", was used for data analysis. According to the study`s findings, metaphors can be used as a strong research tool for exploring, understanding and explaining the personal perceptions of elementary, middle and high school teachers with regard to "Fine Arts Teacher" and "Fine Arts Lesson".
