Abstract:

Since at the beginning of the XVI century, political and economical changes happening in the world were observed by serious political events in the Near and Middle East, too. At this period, Ottoman empire being broadening its political geography, Azerbaijan Safavid State consolidated Azerbaijan, eastern Anadolu, Irak-Arab, Irak-Ajam, Persian and Xorasan districts and being heir of Azerbaijan Akkoyunlu state political heritage, Sheybanis having dictator position in Maverennehr, Mamluk state surrounding the territories of Egypt, Syria, Hicaz were the subjects of the happening events. * Azerbaycan Milli Bilimler Akademisi Tarih Enstitüsü Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi 125 Azerbaijan Safavid State taken part closely in the political events happened in the region was taking part in the system of international relations closely. At the beginnings of the XVI century (1501) Safavid State formed with I Shah Ismayil’s political coming to power in Azerbaijan had turned to one of the lider states in the Near and Middle East in the short time. It began reviving in the foreign political relations of the state and developing political and diplomatic relations with neighbouring states. The base of the foreign policy of the Safavid authority were broadening of the boundaries of the state, the development of economical-trade and diplomatic relations with neighbouring states at this period. During Safavid authority the political relations with Egypt Mamluk state hold one of the important places in the foreign policy of Azerbaijan. Because Mamluk State was taking part in the political events closely at this period. This factor played an important role in the foreign policy of the Safavid authority.
