Abstract:

The aim of study is to state the views of Primary School Education Teacher Candidates’’ on Primary School Teacher Education Program. This research is a qualitative study and has a descriptive research design. Nondirective and semi-structured interviews were used for data collection tool. This research was implemented to 29 Primary School Teacher Candidates that attending the Faculty of Education, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University * Doç. Dr., Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, İlköğretim Bölümü ** Arş. Gör., Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, Eğitim Bilimleri Bölümü 165 Uşak Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi, 2013 Kış (6/1) in the academic years of 2011-2012. Teacher candidates’ opinions were taken to investigate their views on Primary School Teacher Education Program and asked for recommendations. According to the results, some changes on Primary School Teacher Education Program should be done and the efficiency of the programme should be measured constantly. According to teacher candidates’ views, the content and the teaching methods of the classes that are taught presently should be improved by taking students’ needs into consideration.
