Turks living in the Balkans, who comprise a huge part of the Turkish world, have not only preserved their national identity but created a rich literature. This literature, initially an oral one, has later created a written literature rich in terms of both quality and quantity. However, during the era following the World War II, the Socialist government used literature as a means of ideology and propagandized the system. During the same era, while some of the Anatolian poets and novelists’ works were accessible by the Turks in Bulgaria, others influenced them ideologically.
