Abstract:

Giambattista Vico is a prominent thinker who contributed much to the philosophy of history and science of history with his ideas. Vico, who pointed out his original ideas and thoughts on those issues, was admired, appreciated and recognized long after his death. Vico mentioned that as a new methodology, the methodology of historical and social sciences is a feasible methodology in the face of natural sciences' methodology. Vico, who accepts that history is a branch of knowledge, emphasized the influence of historical and social conditions on the human nature. According to Vico, a human being can only know the things correctly and exactly that he himself causes and performs.
