The aim of this study is to determine the effect of gender role to transformational leadership characteristics. The relationship between gender role and transformational leadership characteristics and effect level have measured in this study. For this purpose, the study data were collected from the faculty of medicine students in the last year operaring at state universities in Marmara Region. In this context, a total of 153 valid questionnaires were obtained. In this study, Transformational Leadership Scale developed by Podsakoff (1990) and adapted to Turkish by İşcan (2002) has used to measure transformational leadership characteristics and Bem Sex Role Inventory was used to measure gender role. In this direction, the data were assesed by using Mean, Standard Deviation, Frequency, Pearson's Correlation and Regression Analysis through IBM SPSS 20 program. According to the study results, the relationship between role of gender and transformational leadership was found to be significant. Feminine characteristics effects to transformational leadership is more than masculine characteristics. While individualized consideration dimension are higher in medical students that have higher feminine characteristics, vision and inspirational motivation with being appropriate role model dimension are higher in medical students that have higher masculine characteristics.
