Performance related payment has been discussed and applied in public sector by many counties in the World. In line with development in the World, performance related payment has become in the agenda in Turkey. Any kind of reform cannot succeed in practice unless it depends on positive views and attitudes of public employees. This study tries to identify and analyze the views of teachers and administrators working at school in Kahramanmaraş province about performance related payment. Questionnaire was used as a research tool. Results were analyzed by SPSS program. The study results explore that the majority of the participants agree the view that payment of public employees should depend on the performance. On the other hand, the majority of the participants seem to be indecisive on the appropriate implementation of performance related pay in the schools. Majority of participants think that external factors rather than performance would play a role, and it would lead to favoritism and harm the relations of teachers.
