The aim of this study is to determine the history teacher candidates' efficacy in field training knowledge, one of the special field competencies. In this context, four universities’ faculties of education were included into the research by using random sampling method. 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade 337 candidates who studying in these faculties’ program of history teacher constitute the sample. In the study, as data collection tool, "History Teacher Efficacy in Special Field Scale” that is created by researchers is used. Scale consist of two parts; personal information of candidates and items related to the history teachers’ specific field competencies. According to the results obtained from the research, history teacher candidates’ specific field efficacy does not change according to gender, there is no meaningful differences in between order of candidates’ department preferences and academic achievements but it was found to be significant difference between the mean of the candidates according to their grade level. It was seen that level of History teachers' perceptions of competence are overall "adequate" and it is demonstrated that the relationship between efficacy scores are positively moderate and highly significant.
