Location decision is an extremely complex decision making problem as evaluation process requires an important number of conflicting criteria that need to settle. Multiple criteria decision making models have been developed to help decision making process of individuals and organizations. The method is used when decision maker needs to evaluate both qualitative and quantitative factors. In this study, AHP method has been used to determine livestock breeding locations in Isparta city. In order to determine the optimum location, 7 districts of Isparta have been compared, based on 5 different criteria (location, environmental factors, labor, capital costs and laws). The findings of AHP suggest that the most important criteria that affect location decision is the ‘environmental factors’. Yalvaç town has been found as the ideal location. Although livestock breeding is mainly conducted by individuals in Yalvaç, necessary support has been provided in order to establish integrated meat and diary production industry in the region. A recent decision of Isparta City Council to support all kinds of projects on meat and diary production facilities is in line with the findings of this research. Aksu and Sütçüler towns have been found as the worst alternative regions.
