Bu çalışma, TÜBİTAK (Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Araştırma Kurumu) tarafından düzenlenen, Ortaöğretim Öğrencileri Araştırma Projeleri Yarışması’naaz bölge sergisi düzeyinde katılmış ve bir üst öğrenime devam eden öğrencilerle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin yarışma sürecinde edindikleri kazanımlar öğrencilerin gözünden aktarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada nitel ve nicel araştırma yöntemlerini içeren karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan “Proje Deneyimi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evreni, TÜBİTAK Ortaöğretim Öğrencileri Araştırma Projeleri Yarışması bölge sergisine katılmış kişilerdir. Veri toplama aracı, 176 katılımcıya elektronik posta yoluyla gönderilmiştir. 55 katılımcı geri bildirimde bulunmuştur. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu bu 55 kişiden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın sonuçları, proje çalışmalarının öğrencilerin bir üst öğrenim hayatlarına katkı sağladığını göstermektedir.
