The adaptation of the elderly and other disadvantaged groups to urban dynamics, which is in constant change, leads to many social, economic and psychological problems. Established in 1999, the Cittaslow movement (slow/calm city) is a movement which is concerned about human relations and environmental awareness between the global and the local, which aims to protect the local identity and texture of the cities from the unfavourable conditions of globalization, and to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and the visitors. The arrangement of the cities in such a way as to facilitate the movements of the elderly and their lives will make the arrangements for the elderly as well as for the children, the disabled and all the city dwellers. The Cittaslow movement, which has emerged as an alternative to modern urban life, is a perspective that deals with development in a different way with respect to nature, environment and humanity. The positive effects of the regulation of the urban environment according to the Cittaslow criteria in the study were emphasized on the aged.
